June 30, 2003 – The University of the Islands has just received a $20,000 donation from Corporate Services Group, LLP, a business and financial consulting firm based on St. Thomas. CSG Chairman Richard A. Moman said his company's partnership with UVI represents its dedication to the growth of the territory's students.
UVI Vice President of Institutional Advancement Joe Boschulte thanked Corporate Service Group for its generous donation. "It is because of our partnership with CSG and other EDC beneficiary companies that the university can continue to provide outstanding service to its students and the community," Boschulte said.
CSG, which has made contributions to UVI since 1989, supports the institution's goals and mission and is committed to continuing its long-term relationship with the university, Moman said.
Referring to UVI President Dr. LaVerne Ragster, Moman said, "In recent meetings with Dr. Ragster and Mr. Boschulte, it was obvious that these two energetic, dedicated professionals share a vision that can only come to fruition with help from others."
By supporting the University, CSG can ensure that students will be properly steered toward curriculums that guarantee quality careers in the territory, he said.
According to Boschulte, half of the donation will be secured in the president's reserve and the other half will go toward the support of strategic initiatives at the University.
