Sept. 3, 2003 — The University of the Virgin Islands Bulletin Board issued Sept. 2 has these announcements:
Volume 17 of The Caribbean Writer Now in UVI Bookstore
Copies of the most recent edition of The Caribbean Writer, an international literary anthology published each summer by UVI, are now available in UVI Bookstores on the St. Thomas and St. Croix campuses. The Caribbean Writer has a Caribbean focus.
The current edition, Volume 17, features the works of writers and artists in the region (including the Virgin Islands) and abroad. The Caribbean

($12, plus shipping) is also available on St. Croix at The Bookie,
Memories of St. Croix, Magazines and More, Undercover Books and Whim Museum; on St. Thomas at Tropical Memories and Dockside Bookshop; and on Tortola, B.V.I., at Heritage Books and Arts.

UVI Schedules Activities Fair, Voter Registration Sept. 4 on St. Thomas
The student activities office on the UVI St. Thomas campus will sponsor an Activities Fair and Voters Registration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, at the cafeteria porch. Included are sign-up for student organizations and activities for the fall 2003 semester, information concerning on- and off-campus job opportunities, and a chance to sign-up for UVI's mentorship program.
To register to vote in the U.S. Virgin Islands, one must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen. A 90-day V.I. residency is required for those who previously had residency elsewhere. Those registering need to bring their Social Security card and proof of citizenship, such as birth certificate, passport or naturalization papers. For details call 693-1111.
SBDC Sets "Benefits of Insurance" Seminar Sept. 12 on St. Croix
The UVI Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in collaboration with the Ambassador Financial Group, Inc. will conduct an insurance seminar entitled "The Benefits of Having Insurance: Business, Life, Health and Disability" from 5:45 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12 at the SBDC Training Center located in the Sunshine Mall lower level, St. Croix. UVI Accounting Association Sets Meeting Sept. 21 on St. Croix
The UVI Accounting Association, St. Croix campus chapter, will hold its next general meeting from 3 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21, in Evans Center room 716 on the St. Croix campus (next to the Freshman Lab).
