BISHOP MURRY TO INSTALL CATHOLIC PASTOR

Jan. 10, 2003 — The Most Rev. George V. Murry, Bishop of the Diocese of St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands, will install Rev. Charles Crespo as pastor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, on Sunday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m.
As pastor-elect, Rev. Crespo has been leading the flock and overseeing the church building project since August 15. The previous pastor, Rev. Neil Scantlebury, served OLMC for five years and is now rector of Ss. Peter and Paul Cathedral on St. Thomas.
As part of the installation ceremony, Murry will present to the new pastor his clergy, staff and parish council. Crespo will then recite and sign an oath of fidelity to the church. Finally, Murry will present Crespo with the signs of his office: the ambo, the altar, a purple stole and the keys to the church.
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church is the only Catholic church on St. John.
