Nominee Submitted for Horse Racing Commission

Aug. 5, 2004 – Gov. Charles W. Turnbull has submitted to the Legislature the name of Kenneth Hermon to serve another term on the V.I. Horse Racing Commission representing St. Thomas, Government House announced on Thursday.
The nomination requires Senate confirmation.
Herman is a retired Postal Service employee and a military veteran who served in the U.S. Army's 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. Currently self-employed as a taxi driver, he is a former president of the V.I. Taxi Association.
Last month, the governor sent the Legislature six other nominees to the commission, which meets separately in each district as a body of eight members plus the Housing, Parks and Recreation commissioner. (See "Governor Submits 6 Racing Commission Nominees".)
