Hike and Learn About Ecology on the Reef Bay Trail

Sept. 11, 2004 – Hikers and environment explorers have an opportunity to explore the Reef Bay Trail and learn about St. John ecology on Saturday, Sept. 18, thanks to the Environmental Association of St. Thomas/St. John.
Hikers must walk with plenty of water and lunch. There will be swimming and snorkeling at Reef Bay.
This is a somewhat strenuous hike without shade. Hikers should evaluate their own fitness level before taking part. All hikers should bring water, snacks, bathing suits and snorkel gear. Hikers will not have to hike back up the trail, however: The motor vessel SadieSea will take them from Reef Bay to Cruz Bay.
Hikers traveling from St. Thomas are asked to catch 9 a.m. or earlier ferry from Red Hook.
The cost is $20 for EAST members, and $25 for nonmembers. Call 774-1837 for reservations.
