Beach Advisory Week of Jan. 10 – Jan. 14

Jan. 14, 2005 — Commissioner Dean C. Plaskett, Esq., of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) announces that the Division of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Beach Water Quality Monitoring Program, which evaluates weekly water quality at 43 popular swimming beaches throughout the Territory, would like to advise the public of the following:
DPNR-DEP performed water quality analysis at the 43 designated beaches throughout the Territory during the week of January 10- January 14, 2005. It has been determined that all of the 43 beaches meet water quality standards specifying that they are SAFE FOR SWIMMING AND/OR FISHING. These beaches include:

Princess (Condo Row)
Dorsch
Protestant Cay
Frederiksted Public Beach (First Target)
New Fort (Ft. Louise Augusta)
Sprat Hall
Buccaneer
Davis Bay
CaneBay
Cramer’s Park
Columbus Landing
Grapetree Bay
Pelican Cove (Comorant)
Shoy’s
GentleWinds
Rainbow
Chenay Bay
Teague Bay
Halfpenny
St. Thomas

Water Bay
Lindquist
Sapphire
Magen’s Bay
Vessup Bay
Bluebeards
Coki Point
Secret Harbor
Bolongo Bay
Limetree
Frenchman’s Bay
Lindberg Bay
Brewer’s Bay
Hull Bay
Morningstar

St. John

The VI Beach Monitoring Program DPNR will continue to monitor these beaches on a weekly basis. For additional information regarding water quality call the Division of Environmental Protection at 773-1082 in St. Croix or 774-3320 in St. Thomas.
