St. Thomas District Public School Registration Nears Completion

May 19, 2005 — Phase one of the St. Thomas District Public School Registration nears completion, according to Registrar Claudette Hodge. Parents and guardians of children who seek to have their child enter public schools in the fall are advised that registration for this period ends on Wednesday, May 25. Registration for the 2005-2006 school year began on May 4.
In an effort to alleviate a last minute rush to have your child registered, parents are asked to visit the Registrar's Office from 8:15 a.m. through noon at the Education Department’s Curriculum Center, located across from the Seventh Day Adventist Church, in Estate Tutu.
Parents wishing to register their child must bring the child to be registered and the following documents: the child’s original birth certificate (U.S. citizens only), passport, resident card, naturalization certificate (non-citizens only), V.I. Immunization Card with clearance form attached, report card from previous schools, proof of parent's physical address (i.e. driver’s license, voter’s ID, cable TV bill, WAPA bill), and the child’s Social Security card.
Ms. Hodge further reminds parents that students will not be registered without the presentation of a V.I. Immunization Card with the attached clearance form issued at the immunization clinic at the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital. Immunization clearance forms are a mandatory requirement of the registration process and no exceptions will be made. Parents are further reminded that students entering kindergarten must be five years of age on or before December 31, 2004.
The schedule for students to be registered through May 25 is as follows in accordance with the first letter of their last name:
Date….First Letter of Last Name
May 19….D & E
May 23….C
May 24….B

May 25….A
