Reader Reacts to Distracted Driver Act

Regarding the new Distracted Driver Law, I would like to make the following comments.
I believe that a driver that is engaged in any activity other than driving could be described as a "distracted driver" and that the law, while well intentioned, falls short of the desired result.
Drivers should do just that, drive, and if the need to communicate is so pressing, then the driver should be required to exit the traffic flow and stop until the call is complete.
Talking to "Tante Merle" should not have precedence over safely operating a motor vehicle.
The law needs to be expanded to address the above-mentioned issues, and I hope it can be done quickly and included when the law is enforced.
