Firearm Arrest Made at Educational Complex

May 4, 2006-Police Commissioner Elton Lewis announced today that an 18-year-old male was arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of an unlicensed firearm on a school campus.
Vicente Pesante of Adventure Hill was unable to post bail, which was set at $25,000.
According to a release, a concerned citizen informed school security officers, who were at the Educational Complex on an assignment, that a male student allegedly displayed a handgun in the vicinity of the shanty located on the southern side of the school.
The male with the gun was identified, and when officers approached him he began to run and threw the handgun on the roof of the shanty; however, it fell to the ground.
Officers recovered a fully loaded 25 caliber handgun. They apprehended and arrested Pesante.
