Glenis Ruthlyn Martin Is Dead at 73

June 18, 2006 – Glenis Ruthlyn Martin died on June 13, in Tampa, Florida at the age of 73.
There will be a first viewing from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., on Tuesday, June 20, at John Thomas Chapel. A second viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., on Wednesday, June 21, at the Memorial Moravian Church. The funeral service at the church will follow. Interment will be in Western Cemetery No. 2.
Glenis Ruthlyn Martin was born on the island of Antigua to Doris Jeffery and Alphonso George on June 7, 1933.
For 30 years she was am employee at the Queen Louise Home for the Aged. She was a very dedicated and involved member of her church and was a Memorial Moravian Church Ambassador, a member of the senior and Gospel Choirs, and active in the Women's Fellowship.
She is survived by husband, Reginald Martin; and children: Heather Jackson, Kathleen Rivers, Ceres Walters, Reginald Martin II, Carol Napier, Margarita Martin, Edward Freeman, Eustace Riley, Persha Riley, David Riley, and stepdaughter Valerie Martin. She is also survived by sisters: Anna Lashley, Muriel George and Etta Tobitt; brothers: William "Shelly " Tobitt, Samuel Tobitt, Maxwell George and Roosevelt Tobitt; and special sisters: Olive Haynes-Brown, Gloria Cornelius, Ruth Archibald and Talquaina "Tiny" Martin. Other survivors include 14 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
Funeral arrangements are by John Thomas Chapel.
