Dear Source:
I don't know how else to get to the people of STX. So I chose this venue.
I just wanted to tell the people of St. Croix that for the first time in my life, I just saw a professional production of the Nutcracker performed by the Cincinnati Ballet theater group. It was beautiful — BUT it could never compare to what Pointe Dance puts on annually through the direction of Heidi Wright and Sonya Anderson. The version I saw today had all the effects (orchestra, professional stage, lights and scenery, etc.)–but it missed warmth and most of all, the children. The story is beautiful, and Heidi and Sonya bring it to life in such a real way that I don't even have to read the program to understand what the story is about. Congratulations to them and the St. Croix community for continuing the wonderful work they do with the children — through all ages (and even getting the locals who can't dance, to play the other parts). My best regards for Heidi, Sonya, the children and the community, in making the season a little more special.
