What's Up Next on the Doug Lewis Show

Jan. 2, 2007 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 7. This Sunday we will feature music by Chris Young, Christabel and the Jons, Allan Toussaint, Patsy Cline, Kenny Loggins and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "Chris Young" by country singer and songwriter Chris Young. Chris was the winner of this past season's Nashville Star. He wrote four of the tunes on this debut CD and has a rich voice that reminds you a little of George Strait. This is a down to earth and rootsy sounding country CD. It avoids the slick sound that mars some of the country CDs released out of Nashville.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Love and Circumstances" by Christabel and the Jons. The group has a jazzy feel to much of their material. It has some elements of old time music but with a contemporary twist. I got to see this band perform at a coffee house in Taos, New Mexico this past summer and they put on an impressive show.
We include new music from blues artist Dave Gross, bluegrass artist David Grisman, Elvis Costello, Allan Toussaint, Jen Chapin and more.
We also play tunes from Patsy Cline, Merle Haggard, Junior Wells, Irma Thomas, Jeffrey Foucoult and more.
We celebrate the birthdays of Cliff Eberhardt, Kenny Loggins and Paul Revere of Paul Revere & the Raiders. We also remember the great Nashville producer Owen Bradley on the anniversary of his death.
We include music from Kacey Cubero, who will be playing at various venues in the Virgin Islands from Jan. 3-15; Angelique Kidjo, who plays at the Reichhold Center on Jan. 13; and Otis Taylor, who plays at Tillett Gardens on Jan. 24.
Congratulations to Bill Fett, who won two tickets on last week's show to see Angelique Kidjo.
We give you a chance to win a copy of the new release from English folk singer Cara Dillon and a chance to win a CD from Philadelphian singer-songwriter Amos Lee.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker; Molly Molones; and St. Thomas Radiology Associates.
