'The Caribbean Writer' Sponsors Poetry Contest

March 30, 2007 – The first annual The Caribbean Writer Humanities Festival poetry writing contest is currently accepting poems on the theme “Caribbean Creations: Virgin Islands Arts and Culture.” The competition is an open contest, and writers can submit up to two poems of any length to be judged by the magazine's editorial board.
First and second place winners will receive a small cash prize, and their poems will be considered for publication in the magazine later this year. The due date for submissions is April 10. Submissions must clearly indicate that they are for the Humanities Festival contest and should be addressed (electronically or otherwise) to the offices of The Caribbean Writer, University of the Virgin Islands, RR 1, Box 10,000, Kingshill, St. Croix, USVI 00850; Phone: 692-4152; Fax: 692-4026; E-mail: submit@TheCaribbeanWriter.com
