Dear Source:
I was reading how the Abondon Vehicle Task Force pulled 41 abondoned cars from our streets. I believe this is a great way to clean up our streets and make the island more beautiful.
I think they should take it one step furter. Many of the island roads are clogged with cars parked illegally on both sides of the road. This is not only an eyesore but it also creates a health hazzard. Many times garbage trucks, ambulances, fire trucks, police and rescue vehicles cannot navagate our roads due to poorly parked cars. This is due to many homeowners who rent out apartments and do not provide adequate parking for those renters.
The police should have been ticketing these people a long time ago. A police car and a tow truck should drive those narrow roads. Many tow trucks are the size of emergency vehicles. If a car is parked illegally or blocking traffic, the police should take a picture of the vehicle, and the tow truck should take it. The owner would then be fined and pay the expenses.
Some people may say this is harsh, but you would not think so when an ambulence is trying to reach you and can't.
