Veterans Affairs Clinic Moves to New Location

July 26, 2007 – As of Tuesday, July 31, veterans of the Virgin Islands will be serviced at a new location. The Veterans Affairs Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) will now be located in Havensight Mall, on Parcel 1 of 6F Estate Thomas, New Quarter, in Suites 304 and 310, of the upper level of the third building, according to a press release from the Department of Veterans Affairs. The telephone number of the medical services facility will continue to be 774-6674.
Spearheaded by Dr. Eric Lopez-Martino, the ambulatory services clinic will continue to be an open access facility, at which patients can be seen on the same day. Services offered to eligible veterans include preventive services such as immunizations, screening tests, health education and training classes, primary medical care, diagnosis and treatment, drugs and pharmaceuticals as well as authorized emergency care on a fee basis. Referrals to the San Juan VA Medical Center include specialty clinics, outpatient surgery, surgery, mental health, substance abuse treatment, home healthcare, respite and hospice care, emergency care and fee basis maternity benefits. The St. Thomas CBOC is part of the VA Caribbean Healthcare System.
