Dr. Stephen Fromer Dead at 86

July 30, 2007 – Stephen Fromer, M.D. of Judith's Fancy died at his home in Florida on July 29. He was 86 years old.
He is survived by his children: Sandra and Carl; and grandchildren: Benjamin and Jennifer.
A graduate of Columbia College in 1941, his distinguished career in medicine encompassed many diverse aspects of the field including direct patient care, pharmaceutical research at Merck, a term as medical examiner in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and vigorous public health efforts. He was also one of the founders of Doctors Hospital on Staten Island, N.Y. He was a man of irrepressible energy, who never ceased to spend most of his time thinking of how to make the world a better place. He has inspired his children and grandchildren to carry on this tradition.
Riverside Memorial Chapel, N.Y.C. is handling the arrangements.
