Brief: Repairs Done for One Sewer Line, Continuing on Another

Aug. 3, 2007 — Repairs to a sewer line in the Mon Bijou/Glynn area are complete, but work continues on a line at the Figtree Pumping Station, according to a news release from the V.I. Waste Management Authority.
The sewer line in the Mon Bijou/Glynn area, located in the pasture land along the Northshore Road, was repaired and placed back on line July 26. Additional work, including the patching and cleaning of additional portions of the line, was performed and the area was backfilled Friday.
Work on the force main sewer line at the Figtree Pump Station continues. A concrete pipe support shifted and caused the pipe joint to become offset, which resulted in the leak. A portion of the force main pipe, the leaking joint and a valve are currently being replaced.
