Softball Inc., Anchor Dive and Claudio Post Easy Wins

Dec. 19, 2007 — All three games in the Bob Owens Slow pitch softball league on Monday turned out to be lopsided victories. Softball Inc, Anchor Dive, and the undefeated Claudio Enterprises took the wins at the D.C. Canegata Ball Park.
Softball Inc. 16, Cartel 6
In game one Monday night, Softball Inc. bounced back from a couple of tough defeats to hammer the Cartel, 16-6. Softball Inc, had 16 runs on 19 hits with two errors, while the Cartel had six runs on 10 hits and committed two errors.
The winning pitcher was Dale Harris, who now has 4-2 win-loss record, while James Smith got the loss for the Cartel; he is now 2-3 on the year. Top hitters for Softball Inc were, Cody St. Pierre, 3 for 3 with two home runs and four RBIs, Tim Gillipsie, 3 for 3 with a home run and five RBIs, and J.B. Reeves was 2 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs. For the Cartel, Rael Sackey was 3 for 3 with two home runs and three RBIs, and Kenneth Milligan was 2 for 3 with a home run and one RBI.
Anchor Dive 12, Quality Auto Pistons 3
Game two saw the Quality Auto Pistons remain winless as they were sunk by Anchor Dive, 12-3. Anchor Dive's stats line read 12 hits on 15 hits with two errors, while Quality Auto Pistons had three runs on eight hits while committing three errors.
Mario Simmonds' pitching record now moves to 2-2 after picking up the win on the mound for Anchor Dive, while Rod Graci suffered the loss and is now 0-5. Gregg Gumbs led Anchor Dive’s offensive output by going 4 for 4 with two home runs and three RBIs, while teammate, Leandro Reyes was 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs. For the Quality Auto Pistons, Graci was 2 for 2 with an RBI and Jason Helima was 1 for 2 with one RBI.
Claudio Enterprises 18, National Guard Hummers 7
Claudio Enterprises overrun the National Guard Hummers 18-7 in game three to remain undefeated at 6-0 for the season.
Claudio unleashed an 18 runs, 16 hits attack on the Hummers that proved to be too much firepower for the game but overmatched soldiers. The Hummers could only muster seven runs on nine hits and the game was over early.
Julio Carmona, Claudio Enterprises ace pitcher, was as lethal on the mound as he was with the bat. He not only picked up his sixth win of the season without a blemish on his record, but he also led his team with his bat with a 4 for 4, two home runs and four RBI night at the plate. Teammate Antonio Cruz was 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs.
For the Hummers, Larkey Scatliffe was 1 for 1 with a home run and three RBIs and Arthur Canaii was 2 for 2 with one RBI.
