What's Up Next on the Doug Lewis Show

Jan. 2, 2008 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 6. This Sunday we will feature music by Cross Canadian Ragweed, Esther Golton, Magic Slim, Earl Scruggs, Jimi Prime Time Smith, Judy Collins and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "Mission California" from alternative country band Cross Canadian Ragweed. This CD is one of the highest charting CDs on the Americana Music charts. They mix country and rock with fine songwriting skills.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Unfinished Houses" by Alaskan artist Esther Golton. Esther frequently plays the Talkeetna Talkhouse, a really cool little music venue in tiny Talkeetna, Alaska. This is where I saw her perform live a few years ago. This is a fine independent effort.
We play new music from Spook Handy, the Del McCoury Band, Magic Slim, Neil Young and more.
We also play music from Judy Collins, Wayne Hancock, Burrito Deluxe, Eddie from Ohio and more.
We celebrate the birthdays of blues artist Kim Wilson, Earl Scruggs, and the late Sandy Denny. We remember former Flying Burrito Brother and Burrito Deluxe member Sneaky Pete Kleinow on the anniversary of his death.
We include music from Terri Hendrix, who will be appearing Jan. 23, at Tillett Gardens on St. Thomas. We include music from some of the artists who will be performing in Janauary for the St. Croix Blues Festival including Deanna Bogart, Coco Montoya, Shemekia Copeland and Taj Mahal. We also include music from blues artist Jimi Prime Time Smith, who will be playing dates on St. Croix and St. Thomas in January.

We give away a copy of Paul McCartney's Grammy-nominated CD, "Memory Almost Full," and a copy of the Grammy-nominated new release from Alison Krauss and Robert Plant. We also give away a brand new release from David Grisman and former Lovin Spoonful leader John Sebastian.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker; Molly Molones; and St. Thomas Radiology Associates.
