'Chicago' Held Over by Caribbean Community Theatre

Feb. 25, 2008 – Caribbean Community Theatre's smash hit production of "Chicago" is being held over this weekend only with performances at 8 p.m., on Friday, Feb 29 and Saturday, March 1. The musical, with book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, has been a great success and the crowds have demanded additional showings.
The story, set in the Roaring '20s, centers on the attempts of murderous showgirls Roxie Hart (Natalie Hollins) and Velma Kelly (Leslie Highfield Carter) to outdo each other in capturing sensational headlines, each hopeful that the attentions of the press will catapult her from death row to a life of fame and fortune. It is directed by Annaly Babb-Guerra with music direction by Kathleen Dodge-DeHaven and choreography by Ariel Fromer.
The theatre is located at No. 18 Estate Orange Grove, Christiansted. Tickets will be sold at the door at $15 for adults and $8 for students. Advanced tickets will be sold on one day only from 3:30-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 27, at CCT's box office. This production is rated PG-13, so please do not bring young children.
