Rotary Seeks Applicants for Group Study Exchange in Florida

March 15, 2008 – Group Study Exchange is a Rotary Foundation sponsored program that promotes international understanding and goodwill through person-to-person contact. The GSE teams are made up of 5 persons, with an experienced Rotarian as its leader. The team leader is Hubert Raimer, past president of the Rotary Club of Charlotte Amalie.
District 7020, which includes the Bahamas, is pairing with Rotary 6950 District in Florida, which includes St. Petersburg and Clearwater, for a four-week visit from May 8 to June 8. While abroad, team members have the opportunity to meet their counterparts in their respective vocations, tour various businesses and attractions and give presentations to Rotary Clubs and others about their home country and sponsoring Rotary District.
The foundation provides round-trip airfare and local Rotarians in the host district (i.e. Florida) provide lodging, meals and transportation. Team members pay for personal and incidental expenses only. All other costs are covered by the organization.
Applicants to become team members should be employed full time for at least two years in a recognized business or profession and be 25-40 years old. They must be citizens of the U.S. and make themselves available for personal interviews. Applications must be submitted by March 20.
