May 11, 2008 – Director Kenneth L. Hermon, Jr., PHR, and the staff of the Division of Personnel would like to extend a Happy Mother's Day to all mothers in the Territory of the Virgin Islands. Mothers are the pillars of our community. It is our hope that everyone takes time to honor and recognize all mothers for their valuable contributions to their households, as well as our community. Mothers do their best to give their children the necessary foundation to function in society. We often take mothers for granted and don't always give them the praise and recognition they deserve. There are many mothers out there who have no one to remember them on this special day. We challenge everyone to not only recognize your own mother, but also take time to do something nice for the mothers in our community who are elderly, sick, struggling or homeless. So Mothers please sit back, relax and let your loved ones pamper you!
