Sea Turtle Tag and Release Planned for Saturday

The next "sea turtle tag and release" will be held beginning at 9 a.m., on Saturday, May 31. The last turtle roundup was a great success with 12 turtles being caught and released, and it is hoped that those results can be duplicated.
The project will begin at the UVI Marine Center, past the airport tower, where volunteers will collect turtles from both the grass beds and the runway. Only the good snorkelers can go into the water, and it is best they wear full foot fins.
Bring lunch or some money for a possible pizza run. Participants will have to sign a liability waiver form, and those under 18 will need to bring a parent. Cameras are welcome.
