CFVI Gives Mini-Grant to Help Children Play

May 29, 2008 – Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands has given a mini-grant of $500 to the weekly after school children's games day program at the Coral Bay Ballfield. The Coral Bay Community Council received the grant and will use it to purchase sports and games equipment for their mother-led weekly games, which are held from 3:30-5:30 p.m., on Thursdays, during the summer months.
The children's game day activities usually have five to ten mothers in attendance and some 30 children. The program will include soccer, T-ball and other games. Parents can bring children of any age; the focus is children between 3 and 14 years old. Activities will vary depending on the number of children present. Parents are encouraged to come and participate personally when/if they can and otherwise arrange for supervision by other parents present.
