Brief: Lists of Hurricane Goods Due at DLCA

June 1, 2008 — With the start of the 2008 Atlantic hurricane season Sunday, businesses that stock goods and services necessary for hurricane preparation and recovery are required to submit a price list to the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs.
DLCA Commissioner Kenrick Robertson said in a statement that the price list should also detail all goods and merchandise in stock. The V.I. Code requires that lists be submitted on June 1 and on the first day of each month during the hurricane season, which runs through Nov. 30.
"Failure to submit the price lists will result in penalties prescribed by law," Robertson said.
Businesses should submit the price list to DLCA at Golden Rock Shopping Center on St. Croix; on St. Thomas at No. 1 Sub Base; and on St. John at the administrator’s office building.
Questions should be directed to Howard Dyer, director of Consumer Protection Services on St. Croix at 773-2226, ext. 227; Clive Mills, chief investigator on St. Thomas at 774-3130; or Karen Stapleton, St. John coordinator, at 693-8036.
