Aug. 12, 2008 — The new bridge on Route 73 near Estate Mon Bijou and Little Fountain opens to traffic Tuesday, while a section of East End Road (Route 82) is closed temporarily due to construction.
Public Works Commissioner Daryl Smalls said in a statement Monday that motorists should drive carefully as they follow the new alignment of the roadway at the bridge. The opening of the bridge and roadway are the first phase of the Mon Bijou flood control project, Smalls said.
The East End Road closure is near Cheeseburgers in Paradise.
