Aug. 12, 2008 — Police are looking for a 14-year-old girl who left home Friday morning for her aunt’s house at the JFK housing community, but never showed up there.
The Juvenile Bureau on St. Croix was alerted about the missing minor at 8:30 a.m. Monday. She was reported missing by her mother.
According to Juvenile Bureau Detectives, the minor's mother told police that on Friday, her daughter, Carmen Nelson, said she was going to visit her aunt.
According to the mother it is customary that Carmen would walk from her residence at the Harborview Apartments to her aunt's home in JFK.
On Monday, the mother called the residence where her daughter was supposed to be and was informed that Carmen never arrived.
Carmen is described by her mother as being 5 feet 2 inches tall with a light brown complexion. She has a surgical scar on her left knee.
The family has not provided a photo of the minor, according to a release from the V.I. Police Department.
