Students Sought for SAT Prep Program

Sept. 7, 2008 – High school students are invited to participate in a three-year Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) preparatory program that will meet on Saturdays. The course provides students with tips and strategies to effectively prepare for the SAT exam and improve their scores. An essential component of the program is to track the progress of enrolled students from the time they enter the program to completion.
Classes will begin on Saturday, Oct. 4, and will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on both campuses of the University of the Virgin Islands. Space is limited on each island, so positions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applicants must be 10th or 11th grade public high school students, with GPAs of 2.0 to 3.5. An administrative fee of $20 is required at orientation. The program is administered by the UVI – Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (UVICELL) Center and is sponsored by Innovative Communications Corporation.
For more information on the program, contact Ayopha Stalliard at 693-1106 or visit the UVICELL Web site at http://cell.uvi.edu/SAT.html
