Nov. 7, 2008 – The St. John Animal Care Center is gearing up for its festive "Christmas for the Animals" fund-raising event. It will be held from 6:30-9:30 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 5, at the Tango Mare, overlooking 180-degree ocean views at Hart Bay. This year's event has a Roaring '20s theme and will feature the best chefs across St. John, as well as guest bartenders at the "Bullets & Bubbles" bar. There will be music from the 1920s, great food and drinks, 'cigar girls,' valuable raffles and costume contests. Guests are encouraged to dress in the spirit of the Roaring 20s or Island Fancy.
The annual event raises much-needed funds for the St. John ACC, a non-profit organization that cares for the islands homeless animals and educates the community about proper pet care.
Tickets are available for a $100 donation to the ACC and can soon be purchased at Chelsea Drugstore, St. John Hardware, Connections and the St. John Animal Care Center.
