USDA Offers High Energy Cost Grants

The United States Department of Agriculture has begun accepting applications for a High Energy Cost Grant Program that provides financial assistance toward the improvement of energy generation, according to a press release from Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen.

They have begun accepting new applications for the funding opportunity with a deadline of Sept. 8. Eligibility requirements include: the grant project must serve an eligible, extremely high energy cost community; the proposed project must improve energy generation, transmission or distribution facilities serving an eligible community; the administrative costs of the project must not exceed four percent of the grant funds.
If an organization is interested in applying for this funding opportunity, it must submit a grant application package prepared according to the directions in the 2010 NOFA and 2010 application guide.
