Police officers found the body of a man who had apparently been shot to death late Friday in downtown Cruz Bay. The victim was identified as 25-year-old Kenson Jolly of Pastory.
It was the first homicide on St. John, the 19th in the territory, since the first of the year.
According to the V.I. Police Department, officers were dispatched at about 11:12 p.m.m to the area of Kongens Gade in downtown Cruz Bay, St. John following up on a report of a disturbance.
Arriving to the location, officers found a black male slumped over in a patio chair, unresponsive to their verbal inquiries. On further inspection, the man was seen to have several gunshot wounds to his body and was believed to have succumbed to those wounds.
The victim, known as “Jolly,” was identified by next of kin.
