Attorney General: Another One Bites the Dust

Gov. Kenneth Mapp has gone through his third attorney general. On Thursday, Mapp removed acting-Attorney General James Carroll from the position he had appointed  him to three months ago.

Informed sources say Carroll will be replaced with Claude Walker, who previously worked in the Office of the Attorney General.

Carroll has previously served with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and as a V.I. Superior Court judge.

Mapp’s first choice for attorney general, Soraya Diase Coffelt,  quit the position shortly after taking it, accusing the governor of trying to micro-manage the office and her.

His second appointee Terri Griffiths proved to be highly controversial, firing people and even getting into a shouting match at a local media office.

Carroll took Griffiths’ place after Mapp let her go.

Unlike Griffith, Carroll is expected to remain in the AG’s office.
