Town Halls Scheduled to Hear Tenant Concerns on Rent Increases

After being bombarded with calls from concerned tenants regarding letters received from their property management company, McCormack Barron Salazar Management, informing them that their rents would be increased on July 1, Sen. Marvin Blyden has scheduled a town hall meeting for all tenants who reside at the following communities. The town hall will give tenants a chance to voice their concerns regarding the increase and any other issues they may have.
Tenants who live in Lovenlund 1 and 2, Amalie Terrace or Grandview Apartments 1 and 2 on St. Thomas, are encouraged to attend a town hall tentatively set for 5:30-7:30 p.m., Monday, May 23, at the Charlotte Amalie High School auditorium. Once the date is confirmed, the senator will inform the public immediately.
Blyden will hold a town hall meeting for those who live on St. John on from 5:30-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, at the Legislature for those residents in Calabash Boom and Bellevue Apartments that may have similar concerns regarding the proposed rent increase.
Feel free to contact Sen. Blyden’s office with any questions at 693-3567. Those who attend are encouraged to bring a copy of their lease.
