DOE Requires All Student Athletes to Have Accident Insurance

Student athletic activities will resume on Monday, Oct. 17. All student athletes are required to provide proof of insurance to participate.

The V.I. Department of Education’s policy regarding athletics requires accident insurance for all student athletes. If a parent CIGNA, private insurance or coverage through the Medical Assistance Program (MAP), VIDE will accept these insurances.

If there is no medical insurance, VIDE will require insurance through PGU Insurance Services for the St. Thomas-St. John District and Atlantic Southern Insurance for the St. Croix District. Furthermore, parents or guardians are required to sign the appropriate registration and consent documents.
