‘My Plate! The New Food Guide Musical!’ to Come to 3 District Schools

The Virgin Islands Department of Education invites the community to enjoy three nights of special performances of “My Plate! The New Food Guide Musical!”

The live show will feature 250 Julius E. Sprauve, Lockhart and Bowsky elementary school students performing alongside Roumel Reaux, a performer and choreographer in six Broadway shows including “The Wiz;” Helen Butleroff Leahy, Broadway choreographer, dancer, ex-Rockette and registered dietitian; professional acrobats Christina Rivera Durst, who played Snoopy in “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown;” and Julia Karis, a performer in “Seussical the Musical.”

The high-energy nutrition-themed musical has been praised by First Lady Michelle Obama and featured in the New York Times. It received a certificate of achievement from the New York State Department of Health.

This event marks the 88th performance of the initiative over the past eight years in N.Y.C., Conn., Mass., Calif. and St. Thomas.
