Parents Matter Now Collecting School Uniforms, Supplies to Distribute Aug. 26

COLLECTION: Parents Matter, a unique online family support group, is asking people to donate all their unneeded and clean school-related items, such as clothing, belts, backpacks, bags, ties, copy books, pencils, pens, etc. to share with needy families in the community. Undergarments, such as vests, socks, etc., will be accepted only if brand new.

For more information, Call Harriet this week at 643-4342. Needed items are for all schools — public, parochial or private.

DISTRIBUTION: The 4th annual School Uniform Drive and Family Social will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Church of the Apostles’ Doctrine, in Smith Bay on the main road, just atop the speed bumps. Look for the balloons.

Come and get what your children need for school – school uniforms and other supplies. All items are free, but tips will be greatly appreciated. There will also be a wide variety of teas, snacks, inspirational talks and prizes.

More parents are needed to join Parents Matter. Membership is free. Please sign up today. Visit Parents Matter on Facebook.
