One Killed, Two In Custody in Oswald Harris Shooting

One man was killed and two “persons of interest” were taken into custody in an incident Wednesday afternoon at the Oswald Harris Housing Community, the V.I. Police Department reported.

Police identified the victim as 22-year-old Jahbari Joseph.

According to the VIPD, at 3:15 p.m. units from the Richard N. Callwood Command and units from the Criminal Investigation Bureau responded to the area of the Oswald Harris Court Housing Community after the 911 center received reports of being fired.

At the scene officers observed an unresponsive black man lying on the ground with what appeared to be blood on his clothing. The victim was examined by emergency medical technicians who discovered he had no vital signs.

Police took two persons of interest into custody and recovered one firearm.
