CFVI to Host Community Forums on 2018 KIDS COUNT Data Book

2018 KIDS COUNT Data Book

The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) invites individuals and groups from all sectors to attend the 2018 KIDS COUNT Community Forums. There will be three collaborative community dialogue events, one on each island, which will highlight data presented in the to-be-released 2016 KIDS COUNT Data Book.

St. Thomas — from noon to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the University of the Virgin Islands ACC Building, 1st floor Conference Room. (*shuttles from Sports & Fitness Center, see details below*)

St. Croix – from noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at University of the Virgin Islands’ Great Hall. A light lunch and registration will take place from noon to 12:30 p.m.

St. John – to be determined (TBD). If interested in participating in a gathering on St. John, please e-mail annas@cfvi.net

Members from the UVI CERC Research team will also present findings from the post-hurricane community needs assessment, reflecting priority needs and challenges facing children and families since hurricanes Irma and Maria.

An interactive format will engage participants in discussing the findings and ways to address the challenges and opportunities facing the territory’s children and families.

CFVI invites all members of the community who have a role in children’s lives, whether as government leaders, policy-makers, educators, parents, community organization representatives, business leaders, hurricane recovery workers and volunteers, donors or concerned citizens.

Parking instructions for the St. Thomas Forum scheduled for Dec. 4: Due to limited parking at the ACC building, participants of the meeting are required to park at the Sports and Fitness Center. They are not allowed to park in the green areas because those spaces are for employees only. If participants park in the employee parking, they may be ticketed and/or booted.

The shuttle service will begin at the Sports and Fitness Center at 11 a.m. and continue until 1 p.m. Once the meeting is over the shuttle will take the participants back to the Sports & Fitness Center. Should someone need to leave before the meeting ends, they can inform whomever is at the ACC front desk or the Business & Fiscal Affairs Office and the shuttle will be called.
