VIPD Finds Deceased Body on St. John; Suicide Suspected

The V.I. Police Department on Friday afternoon discovered the body an unresponsive male in a residence int the area of Estate Adrian on St. John.

According to the V.I. Police Department, the deceased was 45-year-old Feguera DeSquange, of Haitian descent.

At about 3:16 p.m. Friday, VIPD officers from the Major Crime Unit responded to the residence they found DeSquange. Emergency medical technicians at the scene confirmed that the DeSquange had no vital signs.

Preliminary investigation revealed that an apparent suicide occurred. However, officers are awaiting official confirmation from an autopsy, when the cause of death is determined by the coroner.

DeSquange’s body was transported to the Myrah Keating Smith Clinic on St. John pending transfer to the Schneider Regional Medical Center on St. Thomas. The victim’s next of kin was properly notified, police said.

This case is under investigation by the Major Crime Unit. Police urged anyone with information the incident to contact the VIPD at 340-774-2211 ext. 5617, the Major Crime Unit at 340-714-9830 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
