Two Men Found Shot to Death in Harris Court on STT

Two men were found shot to death late Sunday in the vicinity of Oswald Harris Court, the V.I. Police Department reported Monday.

The victims were identified by next of kin as 23-year-old Carlos Ingles and 25-year-old Endry Montero Bacili. They were the third and fourth homicides on St. Thomas since the beginning of the year, the fifth and sixth in the territory. The Source’s homicide list is based on police reports, but unlike the V.I. Police list and those of other media, the Source list does not include vehicular homicides, thus accounting for the occasional variance in the numbers reported.

At 11:30 p.m. Sunday, the 911 emergency call center received a report of shots fired. Officers traveled to the area and found a vehicle with two unresponsive men who appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds about their bodies. Emergency Medical Technicians on the scene concluded that the men, later identified as Ingles and Bacili, did not have any vital signs.

“This is a senseless act of violence and the VIPD is seeking the assistance of anyone with information regarding the killing of these young men,” said St. Thomas/St. John District Chief of Police Ludrick Thomas. “Anything you may have heard, seen or know could be of value to us in bringing closure to this case.”

Police urged anyone with information about the shooting to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211 ext. 5569 or the anonymous tip services, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.

Tips received by Crime Stoppers that result in solving a crime can qualify the caller for an anonymous cash reward.
