V.I. Marks 17th COVID-19 Death

The V.I. Department of Health confirmed the territory’s 17th death related to COVID-19.

The death, a 93-year-old male on St. Thomas, was announced in a news release issued Saturday morning.

The department said it continues to work with other agencies to slow the spread of COVID-19, recommending that residents of the territory should:

– Stay at home,
– Practice social distancing,
– Wear a mask when in company of others outside of those in your household,
– Clean frequently used areas thoroughly, and
– Wash your hands often with soap and warm water.

A suspected case of COVID-19 can be reported by calling 340-712-6299 or 340-776-1519. More information is available online at the DOH website, and those interested can register for COVID-19 updates by texting COVID19USVI to 888777.
