Woman on the Moon

Dee Osinski

I am the woman
Who lives on the moon
Looking up at my home
so round and so blue
But the land has all gone
I knew science was true
So l live on the moon
thinking only of you

What a wonderful way to look back
Miles away and centuries past
the universe is so incredibly vast
Life as I knew it is was not meant to last

The earth and sun and planets aligned
Life on the earth was near perfect -divine
No Jupiter Venus or Mars will not shine
Missing the earth -oh that planet of mine

I found water today
To garden and bath
To make tea in the late afternoon
But what could be better
To just simply care more
Where is that man on the moon

Yes Where is the man
Who lives on the moon
I’ve spent my time here
Just looking for you
Waxing and waning
So full and so new
I haven’t yet seen any traces of you

Life on the moon near perfect up here
It Could be better if I could share
This bottle of wine
or a cup of tea
Turning back time
Won’t be better for me

I would gaze at the moon from my yard
Near Pittsburgh in June and July
But now it seems so incredibly far
So I’ll raise my glass high
To the earth and the stars

Yes Where is the man
who lives on the moon
I’ve spent my time here
In search of you
Waxing and waning
So full and so new
Can’t wait till the day I find you
