Shots Reportedly Fired on Veteran’s Drive

The V.I. Police Department is investigating a report of shots being fired Tuesday at a vehicle on Veterans Drive near the pedestrian bridge in the vicinity of the Addelita Cancryn Junior High School.

According to the police, officers traveled to the area and made contact with the complainant, who reported that someone in a black vehicle fired shots at his vehicle, causing damages. The black vehicle then fled the scene, according to the report.

The emergency call center subsequently received another call of a black vehicle with gunshot damage parked at Patriot Manor, and that several Black males exited the parked vehicle. The caller said one of the males appeared injured. Officers traveled to the scene and found the vehicle, but did not locate anyone.

This incident is presently under active investigation as a case of reckless endangerment. Police urged anyone with any information about the case to contact police by calling 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774- 2211 extension 5579, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS).
