Police Investigate Assault in Solberg

 

A man was treated Friday night at the Schneider Regional Medical Center for injuries sustained during an assault the occurred in Estate Solberg, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, at about 10:21 p.m. Friday officers were dispatched to Estate Solberg in reference to shots being fired. Officers made contact with an adult Black male who reported being assaulted by another Black male with dreadlocks during a physical altercation.

The victim, whose name was not released by police in accordance with department policy, told officers that after the assault the suspect fled the area. Gunshots appeared to have been fired in the incident, but no one received any gunshot injuries.

The victim was transported via ambulance to the medical center for treatment of injuries he sustained in the assault.

Police urged anyone with information about this incident to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211 extension 5610, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS). Reports to Crime Stoppers that help resolve a crime can earn the caller an anonymous cash reward.
