According to the Virgin Islands Police Department, on Jan. 23, two fugitives from justice were arrested at the Cyril E. King Airport. At 3:30 p.m., police arrested 24-year-old Michael I. Montanez, Jr. of Deltona, Florida at 4 p.m., and Tony C. Kimble, Jr., age 25 of Meridian, Mississippi. Both men have been charged with being fugitives from justice in separate, unrelated matters.

After discovering that he was wanted in Florida for an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge, Montanez was detained by Customs and Border Protection agents. Bail for Montanez has been set at $20,000, and Montanez was unable to post bail, and he was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections, pending his extradition hearing.

Kimble was held by agents at the Cyril E. King Airport after learning that he was wanted in Mississippi on a failure to appear warrant from possession with intent to distribute charge. He was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections without bail, pending his extradition hearing.
