120th COVID-Related Death Confirmed in the Territory

On Monday, the Virgin Islands Department of Health confirmed the territory’s 120th death related to COVID-19. The deceased is a 77-year-old female on St. Thomas.

The Department continues to work to slow the spread of COVID-19 and asks residents to continue to follow preventive measures by practicing social distancing, wearing a mask when in the company of others outside of those in your household, cleaning frequently used areas thoroughly, and washing your hands often with soap and warm water.

The Department of Health encourages people to get the COVID-19 vaccine and booster to prevent severe illness and death.

A new schedule for vaccinations and boosters went into effect July 1, and all vaccinations will take place as a regular part of the Department of Health’s clinic schedules. All appointment services for vaccines operated by VITEMA have been discontinued.
