Submit Anonymous Tips and Help Solve Crimes

Crime Stoppers continues to ask for anonymous tips to help solve crimes in the territory.

On Tuesday, March 21, at approximately 1:30 pm., officers were dispatched to the area of Kronprindsends Gade and Nye Nordsidevej, adjacent to the Virgin Islands Department of Labor, regarding a discharge of a firearm incident.

Upon their arrival, a preliminary investigation was conducted of the area and contact was made with the management of the Department of Labor concerning the status of their employees. Upon contacting management, the officers were informed that none of their employees sustained injuries, although the building had sustained some damage.

Central Dispatch 911 then dispatched Patrol and Investigation Units to the Roy L. Schneider Regional Medical Center Emergency Room after receiving a report that a gunshot victim was at that location. Upon arrival, contact was made with an Afro-American Male who explained that while in the area of Nye Nordsidevej, he heard several firearms being discharged and sustained an injury. He was then transported to the emergency room for medical attention.

Crime Stoppers is also looking for tips to solve the homicide of David “Donut” Payne Jr. who was a 30-year-old father of four beautiful children. He was a son, a husband, and a brother. He was an elementary school teacher at the Ulla Muller Elementary school, where he touched many young lives. On Friday, September 7, 2012, at approximately 10 p.m., David was shot multiple times about the body outside his Anna’s Retreat residence on St. Thomas.

Anyone with information regarding these cases can call Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or go online at www.crimestoppersvi.org or www.P3Tips.com to submit an anonymous tip.
