The latest territory-wide fuel price survey findings were conducted on Tuesday on St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John, Commissioner Richard Evangelista of the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs announced Wednesday.
Fuel surveys are designed to inform consumers of the most affordable fuel prices throughout the territory. The fuel survey results and rack rates are included for comparative viewing and transparency, according to the press release.
On St. Croix, the average price per gallon for self-service regular and premium were $3.789 and $4.126 per gallon, respectively. The lowest price for self-service regular was found at Five Corners Service Station, G Max Service Station, and One Love Service Station Golden Rock for $3.599 per gallon. Titan Service Station, Moe’s Service Station, One Love Service Station Princess, Value Pack Service Station, Sam’s Gas, and Pit Stop Service Station all came in second with the lowest price for self-service regular at $3.699 per gallon. The lowest price for self-service premium at $3.799 per gallon was found at Gateway Service Station. G-Max Service Station and Titan Service Station came in second with the lowest price for self-service premium at $3.949 per gallon. The lowest price for diesel was found at Super Tanks Service Station, Shuama Service Station, and Titan Service Station at $3.999 per gallon, the press release stated.
On St. Thomas, the average price per gallon for self-service regular and premium were $4.886 and $5.359 per gallon, respectively. Consumers may find the lowest prices for fuel at Home Town for $4.699 per gallon for self-service regular and $4.999 for self-service premium. The second lowest price for self-service regular was found at 1st Stop, 1st Stop Frydenhoj, Gas Works, Ali Baba, Petrus Frenchtown, Petrus Polyberg, Petrus Smith Bay, RaceTrack, and RaceTrack East for $4.799 per gallon. 1st Stop, 1st Stop Frydenhoj, Ali Baba, Race Track, and Race Track East had the second lowest self-service premium at $5.199 per gallon. The lowest price for diesel was found at 1st Stop, 1st Stop Frydenhoj, and RaceTrack East for $5.799 per gallon, the release stated.
On St. John, the lowest self-service prices were found at Racetrack Gas Station at $5.059 per gallon for regular. Racetrack Gas Station had the lowest self-service prices for premium at $5.299 per gallon. E-C Gas Station came in second with the lowest for self-service at $5.089 per gallon for regular. E-C Gas Stations had the second lowest self-service prices for premium at $5.309 per gallon. The lowest price for diesel was found at Racetrack Gas Station at $5.599 per gallon, according to the release.
DLCA also notifies the public of the latest rack rate prices issued by Gulf Oil at Ocean Point Terminals, effective July 24 – July 30, 2023. The new rack prices with the .14/gallon tax are $3.2600 for regular, $3.5600 for premium, and diesel (ULSD) is at $3.0600. Fuel station owners are reminded that it shall be unlawful for any person to offer to sell at retail and dispense or to sell at retail and dispense motor fuel into fuel supply tanks of motor vehicles unless there is continuously and publicly posted and displayed on or near each pump or other dispensing device the minimum octane rating, the retail price per gallon and, separately stated, the tax per gallon, on each blend of motor fuel dispensed therefrom. 12A V.I.C.§ 202, it said.
