V.I. Students Participate in VIDE’s Division of Cultural Education- Blue Heritage Contest

Virgin Islands students participated in awesome adventures in the Virgin Islands Built Heritage Contest, which celebrates rich V.I. history and cultural heritage, the Virgin Islands Department of Education’s Division of Cultural Education announced.

Students from both the St. Thomas- St. John and St. Croix Districts explored remarkable historical sites for a unique learning opportunity, according to the press release.

The videos below portray the significance of the 175th Anniversary of the Emancipation of 1848, which as a territory, will be celebrated for the entire year.

VIYA made generous contributions towards this initiative by providing each district winner with amazing prizes such as the latest iPhone device and a year of free mobile service, it said.
