Alleged Verbal Altercation Leads to Head Injury

A St. Thomas man says he was shot in the head after an alleged verbal altercation with another man, the V.I. Police Department reported Sunday.

On Friday, around 2:24 p.m., 911 transmitted that a man reported to a bystander that another man shot him in the back of his head after they had a verbal altercation in the area of Bjerge Gade on St. Thomas, according to the police report.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim suffered an injury to the rear right side of his head. The victim was transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital for treatment, the police report stated.

Contact was later made with the emergency room doctor, who stated that the victim had suffered a laceration to the back of his head. There was no further information supporting a gunshot wound, the report stated.
